Fishing Report Oct 28th, 2014

Because of the cool nights, the water temp. is down to a fish feeding frenzy temperature of 70 degrees! This means that the big ones are eating the little ones! The cats are in 20 to 30 feet of water being caught drifting with herring and cut mullet. Have seen some nice blue cats come out of the canal at night, using live bream and white perch. Some big panfish are in the canal, and the giant slab crappie and bream are being caught on brush, and also by stump jumping in the upper lake, Lake Marion. Go tree to tree and fish right down beside the dead timber in the upper lake with jigs tipped with minnows. Stripers are schooling like crazy in the lower lake, Lake Moultrie, look for the seagulls and throw bucktails or swim baits. Live herring is also very effective for stripers right now. Use your sonar to find them in 25 to 30 feet of water. Blacks Camp has plenty of lively herring, our herring are guaranteed to die trying!
